The Bible for Grownups | Series Runs Sept. 15 - Oct. 13
As children, many of us received a leather-bound book full of long words and difficult names we couldn’t pronounce. That book was called The Bible. We were told everything in it was true and we should do our best to abide by its teachings. Then we grew up. What was oh-so-simple then is . . . well, not so simple anymore. Perhaps that’s because we were taught some Bible stories but we never learned the story OF the Bible. When you know the backstory of the Bible, you begin to see the stories of the Bible in an entirely new light.
In this 5-part series, we are going to explore a way to approach the Bible that begins with something other than “in the beginning . . .”
